Re: Backup and schedule

Admin credentials are filled (user + pwd). But the scheduled job does never start unless that user is logged in at the time the backup should start (if so, starting manually does the job as well !). And the backup process aborts when the user logs off. My understanding was that scheduled backups wer...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

There is no difference except that INC is started as incremental backup while DIFF is stared as differential backup. The plan is absolutely identical and started manually. Screen copies have been provided in previous posts (months ago). Full and differential backups for the same plan show no problem...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

I need to come back on this issue. 1) I reconfirm the issue : I can reproduce it fairly easily on two distinct machines : every 2 or 3 INC backups, the contents appears not complete when browsing the PBD file 2) it appears to be related to the INC backup : changing to DIFF backup eliminates the prob...

Backup and schedule

Running 9.2 free edition on a test machine for a friend to demo the product (I have myself V10 workstation on a production machine) If I schedule a system backup : - the backup does not start unless I am logged in - if the backup is running and I log off (and log in as another user), the backup is k...

Re: Unable to access admin functions after upgrade to Workstation 10.0

The system 5 error is because the user you are currently logged in has no admin rights. I presume that running the command prompt in admin mode (via Windows key + X) is not allowed either. The strange thing is that the Admin account exists (NET USER shows it - fine !) AND is active (NET USER admin s...

Re: Unable to access admin functions after upgrade to Workstation 10.0

This means that user Admin is still there (and the superuser Administrator as well, but it is probably inactive).

Can you check if Admin is active ? I suspect not.

NET USER Admin

If not, can you check if the user Admin can be activated ?

NET USER Admin /active:yes

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

Hi, same problem on a different machine running Free edition 9.2 : I connect the USB drive, double-click the pdb file and not all contents is shown. Note that I first reported this problem with Workstation 9.X and was told the problem was solved with V10 (which triggered my upgrade - obviuolsy I sho...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

I am running Win 10 Home, so this option is not available. I used net user instead and did activate the Administrator account. No change : the problem is still there ("media is write protected"). Not a security problem in my opinion I believe this is a pure software problem. I did run (as ...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

OK - I reinstalled the software, as apparently there is no way to specify the admin account unless when installing. If there is one, tell me. The fun continues : - If I specify a new admin user, it is not created - if I specify an existing admin user, that one is deleted What is going on ? Remote se...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

Today's status, after contacting support via live chat this morning : 1) the PBD issue is NOT solved in V10 2) even worse : after mounting a PBD file in V10, some folders are not accessible (security issue). A correction version is announced, no time frame given... I am lost; I upgraded to V10 on th...

Re: Opening a PBD file in Explorer does not show all files contained in backup

This is what the Explorer shows and what appears when mounting the PDB file as drive Z. As you can see, this is a system backup, incremental mode - I keep 5 images. Of course, some (user) files have been changed between the last backup and the one just before. but the Windows Explorer shows only a f...
