Re: Pre-sales: backup to NAS folder impersonating other user

Thanks for your advice, Jochen.
This is what I do: I make a backup from computer data to my NAS and I sync the (encrypted) NAS folder with the cloud.

Re: Actual content of .pbd (file backup)

Ok, thank you. I guess I'll have to trust ETB that it includes the right files in its incremental/differential backups

Re: Actual content of .pbd (file backup)

Thanks for your reply. My question is about a file backup, not a disk/partition backup. I would like to verify which files are in a particular incremental/differential backup file, so viewing a full backup doesn't help me.

Actual content of .pbd (file backup)

Hello
Is there a way to see which files are actually contained in a particular .pbd file, that is part of an incremental or differential file backup plan?

Re: Pre-sales: backup to NAS folder impersonating other user

Yes, a periodical cloud backup is also part of my backup strategy.

Just 1 more question: if I purchase the software, can I keep the backup plan or do I need to set it up again?

Re: Pre-sales: backup to NAS folder impersonating other user

Ok, been playing around with the trial version and this is what I've found. In order to setup the backup plan, the current Windows user must have RW access to the NAS folder. Also the NAS folder may not be hidden from within the Synology OS. I set everything up and ran successfully the first backup....

Pre-sales: backup to NAS folder impersonating other user

I would like to: 1. Make a backup to a shared folder on my Synology NAS. This folder is only RW accessible for 1 user, which is a different one from the user that is logged on when the backup runs. 2. Synology has an option to hide shared folders in Windows: "Hide this shared folder in My netwo...
