|
|
I have used Disk Copy to copy my 200G hard disk to another 200G disk (both Maxtors). My system is Windows XP SP3 and I am using a USB external enclosure for the copied disk.
The copy resulted in a copied disk in which the partitions were out of order. I had 4 partitions and the boot partition was moved to last on the copy.
Thank you |

Dear MakrR,
We are sorry for your trouble.
To better analyze your problem, would you please tell us the following information?
1. Did you use "Disk Copy" function or "Partition Copy" function to copy the 200G hard drive?
2. Whether did you receive the error message during the copy process?
3. Would you take a screenshot of Windows Disk Management of the source disk (Please right click "My Computer" and choose "Manage" -> "Storage" -> "Disk Management")?
4. You mentioned "The copy resulted in a copied disk in which the partitions were out of order", would you take a screenshot of it?
5. Whether did you boot the computer from the copied disk?
We also suggest you try EASEUS Partition Master, it has "Disk Copy"(Wizard/Copy Disk Wizard) and "Partition Copy" (Wizard/ Copy partition master) functions. If you want to boot your computer from the destination disk, please try "Disk Copy". When you click "Apply", please tick "Shut down the computer after changes are applied" option to close the computer. After that, please disconnect one of the two disks (the source disk and the destination disk) and boot, otherwise, it will cause bootable problem. The home edition is for free.
Disk Copy, please see: http://www.partition-tool.com/easeus-partition-manager/disk-copy.htm
As always, we recommend you to backup your system and disk with our Free Backup software - EASEUS Todo Backup (http://www.todo-backup.com).
Sincerely,
