|
|
I attempted to restore a backup of my c: partititon with Todo Backup being run from a BartPE bootable USB flash drive.
The backup image is stored on an external harddrive (drive f .
Todo Backup allows me to identify c: as the partition to restore (target partition) and I can then specifying partition type and size/location.
But when prompted to assign drive letter, Todo Backup does not allow me to assign "c:".... strange.
I must be doing something wrong.... Pls advise.
Thanks for your assistance in advance.
(I have have not seen this question dealt with elsewhere on the support forum for Todo Backup - If I have missed a post, pls just direct me to it).
Regards

Dear Regulator ,
We are sorry for your problem.
You can’t assign the existed drive letter for the partition to restore. One partition was marked by the only drive letter.
For further analysis ,please tell us what happened to your C:partition and why you want to restore.
In your case, we suggest you delete the original C partition with Windows bootable CD, then you will get the unallocated space. At this time, please restore the backup of your C: partition and you can assign C drive letter.
Sincerely,

Thanks - Then the easiest would probably be to use \\\"mountvol\\\" with the \\\"/D\\\" switch from the command prompt in the BartPE environment.
However, before I saw your comment I restored using other software. (Following a belts and braces strategy, I also have images created under Macrium Reflect and Runtime\\\'s DriveImage XML and each would allow a direct \\\"c: -> c:\\\" restoration from the BartPE environment).
Thanks
Rgds
