now I can't seem to be able to use my D drive. If I click on the D drive I get the following error message box:
D:\ is not accessable
The disk structure is corrupt and unreadable.
And so I tried to run the utilities from the EASEUS Partition Manager software but those didn't help. Next, I went to a command line (from C:\) and typed in chkdsk d: /f and that runs just fine but says there are no errors.
When I open up the Partition Manger software I can see the D drive and the used and free space on it but it does not show me the contents of the drive.
Any help would really be appreciated because while I backed up my C drive before I started, I forgot to back up this drive (figures) because I was more concerned with the integrity of the C drive not thinking about the integrity of the D drive. |

Dear sullie,
We are sorry for your problem.
Please tell us :
How did you repartition your C drive?
In your case, we suggest you try Partition Table Doctor Demo version:
http://www.ptdd.com/download.htm
Maybe your boot sector was missing or corrupted, please select “Fixboot”:
1. If you cannot access the FAT16/NTFS partition, right click the partition marked with red “X” and choose “Fixboot”,it will automatically check and repair the Boot Sector of the partition.
2. If you cannot access the FAT32 partition and the partition was marked with "X", right click the partition and choose Fixboot.
In this situation, you have “Auto” and “Interactive” mode to be selected.
You can refer to :
http://www.ptdd.com/fixboot.htm
As always, we recommend you to backup your system and disk with our Free Backup software - EASEUS Todo Backup (http://www.todo-backup.com).
Sincerely,

Right, let me go back and explain a couple things I originally left out.
This is on a Windows 2000 server running 12 hard drives in RAID 5 and I'm actually using the EASEUS Partition Master unlimited software which I purchased a few days ago.
So I ran the Partition Master software exactly like your instructions say to. I was running out of C drive space but I had plenty on D. I took 10gb from D, unallocated it, moved it next to C and reallocated it to C drive. It then asked to reboot, I rebooted, it ran your utility in like a DOS looking window and rebooted again. After that reboot, Windows found a problem on the D drive, it ran CHKDSK automatically and said everything was fine and rebooted again. After that reboot, the o/s popped up, everything looked good. I checked C, it had the new 10gb I allocated but when I checked my D drive, I got the above error message.
So, again, my C drive (boot partition) works just fine. It's my D drive (data partition) that I can no longer access. Does this make sense? If so, I'm just not sure I understand why I would want to run FIXBOOT on my D drive when my boot partition is already working?
I really appreciate any assistance! |

Dear Sullie,
We are sorry for your trouble.
Did you try "Fixboot" function of Partition Table Doctor to fix this problem?
If not, we suggest you download the demo version of Data Recovery Wizard to recover the lost data, here is the download link: http://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizard/download.htm
You should choose "Complete Recovery" module to recover the data from the partition D.
After searching, there will be the files list, select a file, click 'Preview File'; unless file is corrupt, you can view it before recovery. (.doc, .xls, .txt, .jpg, .bmp, etc. can be supported to preview).
After you try, please tell your result to support@partition-tool.com, they will do their best to help you.
As always, we recommend you to backup your system and disk with our Free Backup software - EASEUS Todo Backup (http://www.todo-backup.com).

Thank you for the replies.
Yes, so I downloaded Partition Table Doctor but when I try to run fixboot on the C drive nothing happens.
I'll try the Data Recovery Wizard next and report back with my results.
Thanks,
Sullie |
