Can I format USB 1TB HD with single FAT 32?

Postby ianeck » Mon May 11, 2009 4:29 pm

I have read in another post that EASEUS PM is due to support FAT 32 <= 2TB soon. Has this happened yet?

My DVR only supports FAT 32. If I reformat my 1TB NTFS using another partition tool I end up with a working FAT 32 partition but of less than 500GB.

Is this an issue with large FAT 32 partitions and will the same happen with PM? Or could this just be an issue with the tool I have used?

Even if I reformat my 1TB as NTFS again I still do not get the capacity back so I am loathe to continue to mess until I understand precisely what I am doing/using.

Many thanks,

Dear ianeck,

Thank you for your attention to our product. The new version will be released in one month, please pay attention to our website EaseUS Partition Master
To your problem, the tool you used cannot support creating 1TB FAT32 partition. After you created a 500GB FAT32 partition, the remaining space may be changed to be unallocated space. Even if you format the FAT32 partition to NTFS, the unallocated space still exists. You may check in Disk Management, if the fact is like this, you may use our product to resize the partition to the whole capacity.
If you have any problem, please feel free to contact us.
